The most similar app on this page
Of everything on this page, this app overlaps GiftTracker most, and it is worth saying plainly that it is a good one. When we read its App Store listing on 5 September 2026 it was rated 4.8 from about 8,400 ratings, and its feature list covers most of what a person buying Christmas presents actually needs.
Both apps are for the buyer rather than the wisher. Both keep a list per person, both have budgets, and both move a gift through stages ending in wrapped. So the useful comparison is not features against features. It is the few places where the two really differ.
Where Christmas Gift List Tracker is strong
The status pipeline is longer than ours in one useful way: it has an arrived stage between purchased and wrapped, which is the right shape for a Christmas bought mostly online. Filtering by type, status and shop is well suited to a big list.
Its budgets are thorough, with an overall figure, a per-person allocation and graphs of what has gone where. It syncs through iCloud, shares a list for someone else to edit alongside you, prints over AirPrint, and has an Apple Watch app. If your household is entirely Apple, that is a coherent set of things GiftTracker does not offer.
Where GiftTracker is different
The main difference is which phone you own. Christmas Gift List Tracker is Apple-only, and the Android apps with the same name come from other developers, so there is no continuity if you change phone or share the planning with someone on Android. GiftTracker is the same app on the App Store and Google Play.
There is also no subscription. Its Pro tier is listed at £2.99 a year; GiftTracker is free, with no subscription and no in-app purchases, and no part of it is held back.
GiftTracker works offline. Once you are set up, the whole app works with no connection, and changes sync when you are back. Its listing does not claim that, and iCloud sync is not the same promise.
And it is not only about Christmas. Christmas is one Event among birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and anything else you buy for, with ideas saved all year and attached to an occasion later. If Christmas really is the only list you keep, that is not an advantage; it is simply a wider tool than you need.
You can also add your own statuses in GiftTracker when To Buy, Bought and Wrapped do not fit, which is how you would get an Ordered or a Delivered stage of your own.
Which one fits you
If everyone involved is on Apple hardware, you want the watch app and the graphs, and £2.99 a year is nothing to you, it is a strong choice and we would not argue with it.
If anybody in the picture is on Android, or you would rather not pay a subscription for a list, or you want the same app handling birthdays in June, GiftTracker is the better fit. How to choose a Christmas gift list app covers what to check before you move a whole Christmas into either one.
